The history of Uncle Hilde's traces back to 1896, when Mark "Hilde" Hildebrand's grandfather started a lumber business in Pennsylvania. As a third generation lumberman, Hilde moved to New Hampshire shortly after graduating from forestry school in 1985 and went to work for one of the largest specialty lumber wholesalers in the Northeast.
