Business Details
We are led by owner Lou Branchev, who has over three decades of stone craftsmanship mastery specializing in custom interior stone applications. We serve clients across Ventura and Santa Barbara County, and also take on custom residential and commercial projects spanning from Santa Barbara to San Diego. Our team of highly skilled fabricators and installers collaborates closely with contractors, engineers, architects, designers, and homeowners on every project we undertake. We prioritize guiding clients through the full stone selection process, including visits to stone yards to choose slabs and colors, and even travel to exotic quarries to source ideal materials. We emphasize selecting stone not only for its initial aesthetic beauty but also for its long-term durability and maintenance requirements to ensure it aligns with homeowners design and functional needs. All our products are engineered and installed with precision and safety to meet the functional requirements of their intended use.
We have extensive specialized experience handling complex installations, such as accurately setting heavy granite slabs to guarantee their long-term performance and stability. Lou brought decades of hands-on experience working with other stone fabricators before founding our business in the late 1980s. We are deeply committed to enhancing the ambiance of every home we work on with carefully selected and professionally installed stone. We uphold the highest professional standards across all our custom residential and commercial stone projects to deliver consistent, high-quality results. We take immense pride in the satisfaction our clients express with our finished work, and we operate by our core commitment to leaving no stone unturned for every project we complete.

Absolutely love the way our granite counters turned out. Lou, the owner of L.I. Modern Marble & Kinetic Stone, met us at the yard and helped us pick out the right granite for our kitchen. We needed two extra large slabs and wanted a beveled edge. Installation took a day and was done well. His son and his workers did an amazing job at aligning the joints, (not to mention carrying the awesome weight of these slabs).
The granite has a special coating so we don't need to seal every year. They checked and double-checked their measurements, were extremely courteous, friendly and knowledgeable. Pricing was great. They came highly recommended and I can see why. Would not hesitate to call them again!

We came by talked to them and got rough quote on fixing a marble table top. We purchased the table bring it over and the owner Lou comes out arrogant and argumentative. Now the quote is twice as much. We push back and he goes on about just pay for the new one snd call it a day. This is liability for me. They start to take it out cause we agree to the number and he goes on about forget it unhook it and leave it on the truck. I don't want this unhappy. He was Unbelievably unprofessional. Totally don't recommend doing business with such a mean spirited foul tempered ass.

Lou and his team did a gorgeous job installing the granite in our kitchen and master bath remodel. And even more importantly, Lou has a great eye and experience for what will work well in granite, tile, etc. There were several little choices and touches he added, like the right type of corner edges and making the island just a touch thicker, to emphasize it. He even gave us great advice with other related pieces like the sink, fixtures, etc. We are extremely pleased with the results. Highly recommended.

I had a very successful experience with Modern Marble. Lou and his son Charlie helped me tremendously with the remodel of my kitchen, powder room, and master bath by giving me professional guidance with choosing the stone that best fit the style and function of my home. They updated all of the counter tops, faucets, and sinks which made each space feel clean and fresh. I can't thank them enough for all of their help! I will definitely be using them again in the future and I highly recommend them to anyone looking for professional help.
