Always a great patriot, with great love for America, it is fitting that he died on this day. Elden was born on Sept. 8, 1925 in Salt Lake City, where he grew up with his two best buddies, his older brothers. The three of them had great adventures together on the west side of town. He also was excited when his little brother and sister came along. No one was more important to him than his family! He later graduated from West High School. When WWII started he was not old enough to enlist, so he went to San Francisco and joined the Merchant Marines.

In the mid-1930s, LeRoy E. Harrington (who preferred to be called Harry) was a successful salesman for PABCO Building Products in California. Throughout his travels, Harry recognized an opportunity to start a business that would distribute roofing products exclusively, which was a new concept at the time.
