Wood Products Manufacturing
NEMROC's hardwood division produces 5.5 million board feet annually through sawmills in Alpena. Our kilns dry 5.25 million board feet yearly while providing 50 local jobs. This operation supplies raw materials for our other product lines while maintaining strict quality control from harvest to finished product.
Vinyl Chair Mats Production
We manufacture commercial-grade vinyl chair mats with anti-skid surfaces and carpet-gripping cleats. As the largest federal supplier, we produce over 20,000 mats annually in various thicknesses and sizes. Our transparent mats allow carpet colors to show through while protecting flooring surfaces.
Supported Employment Services
For over 20 years, we've matched employees with disabilities to job sites through two approaches: direct employment services with billing for wages and payroll taxes, or connecting employers with pre-vetted candidates. Our program includes long-term support for successful workplace integration.
Vocational Training Programs
Our Quality Work Environment Initiative offers safety training, computer skills, resume workshops, and workplace communication courses. Employees gain certifications in first aid/CPR, quality control, and technical skills to enhance career opportunities within NEMROC or external employers.

NEMROC is a great asset to the community. Not only are they devoted to employing and training those of all abilities, but they create a wonderful array of products. Between their bird/bee/butterly house kits, cutting boards, pallet signs, and wood crates, I'm never disappointed with their products. They are also are extremely community-oriented and work with a variety of local businesses to make sure they get the product they envisioned.
