Y Adapter

An audio Y adapter is a cable with three ends. One end is common to split signal to two ends. The audio Y adapter cable is a great way to split an audio signal. Choose from balanced or unbalanced versions. Cables can be used from a preamplifier into two amplifiers, or between an amp and a mixing board or from one preamp to two subwoofers.

In Bi-wiring, two pairs of speaker cables are run from the same channel of an amplifier to a speaker. The cable design is 2 conductors to 4 conductors. One pair will connect to the high frequency input and the other to the low frequency input of a speaker. For speakers with only a single pair of rear panel terminals, we combine the four conductors of the Star-Quad cable into two at each end of the cable. In this set up, when used as a full range cable, the Star Quad Design (Negative + Negative / Positive + Positive) will reduce distortion over using a standard twisted pair speaker cable.

UL Rated

Tributaries offers 2 terminated speaker cables that are UL rated for in-wall use. Series 8 is a 12AWG / 2 conductor LC-OFC speaker wire. This cable was designed by Jay Victor with patented conductor geometry to provide superior imaging and improved musical dimension. We recommend this cable as the perfect speaker wire when installing speaker systems using Dolby Atmos or other surround sound technologies.
