American-Made Steel Wire Manufacturing Solutions
Conex Cable has been a leader in steel wire manufacturing since 1988, pioneering the use of continuous extrusion technology developed in 1956. Originally based in the San Francisco Bay area, the company relocated to DeKalb, Illinois in 2004 under 100% U.S. ownership, completing a $3.5 million facility expansion in 2015 to add galvanized steel production. As the only domestic manufacturer of both Aluminum-Clad Steel (AS) wire and Galvanized Steel wire, we maintain full control over cladding, galvanizing, drawing, and stranding processes in-house. Our commitment to American craftsmanship has consistently exceeded industry standards, including early compliance with Build America Buy America (BABA) guidelines. With decades of technical expertise, we deliver corrosion-resistant solutions for critical infrastructure applications like aerial cable support and structural anchoring.

Our team combines legacy knowledge from Hitachi Cable technology with modern innovation to serve utility, telecommunications, and industrial clients nationwide. Every product reflects our dedication to quality, reliability, and supporting domestic manufacturing excellence. We maintain transparent operations through clear documentation of our production processes and material sourcing. Our facility expansion demonstrates long-term investment in meeting evolving industry demands while preserving American jobs. This combination of heritage, technical mastery, and forward-thinking production capabilities positions Conex Cable as a trusted partner for mission-critical wire solutions.

Services
Aluminum-Clad Steel Wire
Our Aluminum-Clad Steel (AS) wire combines steel strength with aluminum corrosion resistance for critical infrastructure applications. Using continuous extrusion technology since 1988, we create products that meet stringent utility industry requirements. This solution provides optimal performance for aerial cable support and electrical grounding systems requiring both mechanical strength and conductivity.
Galvanized Steel Wire
Class A Galvanized Steel strands offer superior corrosion protection for demanding environments. Manufactured to exceed industry standards, these products provide structural integrity for utility poles, communication towers, and industrial anchoring systems. The zinc coating ensures long service life in harsh weather conditions while maintaining mechanical strength.
Conzinal Coated Strands
Our proprietary CONZINAL alloy (95% zinc/5% aluminum) provides enhanced corrosion resistance for extreme environments. This specialized coating extends service life in coastal areas and industrial zones where standard galvanization would degrade. Ideal for grounding systems requiring decades of maintenance-free performance.
Structural Anchoring Solutions
Engineered guy strand solutions provide critical support for utility poles, communication towers, and industrial structures. Our products meet exacting load-bearing specifications while resisting environmental stressors. Available in multiple configurations to match specific installation requirements and safety standards.
Corrosion-Resistant Coatings
Advanced coating technologies protect steel products against rust and environmental damage. We offer both traditional galvanization and proprietary CONZINAL alloy options, each engineered for specific service environments. These coatings ensure long-term performance in both urban and coastal applications.
