In 1946, 46-year-old first generation New Orleanian and Italian American, Salvatore "Sam" Diecidue sought a way to add on to his 9th Ward home for his growing family. Supplies were limited at the time because production had shifted to the war effort. Undaunted, Sam found a solution: he would harvest the lumber from a small parcel of land that was given as store-credit to his Sicilian family's grocery store in Lacombe, LA. That resourcefulness launched one of New Orleans' most successful family-owned building supply enterprises, Dash Lumber & Supply.

Dash Lumber & Supply has a millwork department to add style to your home or commercial construction. Our stock 6-panel exterior steel unit is ready to be installed with double-bore, 4-9/16 no-rot jamb, and brick moulding - inswing or outswing. To create custom designs, we partner with a wide variety of vendors and draw from the thousands of available products.

Gypsum

Dash Lumber & Supply is your source for quality gypsum (aka sheetrock, wallboard or drywall) at competitive prices. Our stock selection includes 48 and 412 as well as fire-retardant or moisture-resistant products. In addition, we stock 1/2"x 54"x12' "stretch board", CertainTeed Glasroc sheathing, and PermaBase cement board (an underlayment or backing surface for tub and shower surrounds, countertops, flooring and a variety of other interior and exterior applications).We also offer a full selection of accessories - tape, joint compound, metal corner bead, and screws.

Dash Lumber & Supply in New Orleans milled our own lumber back in 1946 by cutting pine trees from our family property and drying the wood, so Dash knows quality. And we still offer the best quality building products. Since then, we have only chosen lumber suppliers that meet our own standards. We are unapologetic about our "no tolerance" policy for inferior quality and we inspect every shipment to ensure that the materials meet or exceed our grade standards.If not, we send it back to the manufacturer right then and there.
