Coastal Precast Systems' origin began in 1946 when our founder, John "Jack" Ogorchock started a trucking company in Brookville, Pennsylvania. As the company kept pace with the rapidly growing post-war economy, Jack noticed that the construction industry was suffering from a lack of suppliers. After purchasing a concrete ready mix batch plant and three delivery mixers, the company soon gained the reputation of providing excellent service and quality concrete to the construction market.It was not long until the Brookville facility was too small.

Coastal Precast Systems is ideally located on a 35 acre site on the Elizabeth River in Chesapeake, Virginia. The Elizabeth River is a gateway to points to the south for the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway, an inland path from the ocean providing a more sheltered navigable waterway to Florida for commercial boating.

If you manufacture marine precast, location is important. Marine precast products are normally larger, heavier and longer than conventional precast products. Shipping can be a problem; which is why it is critical that a manufacturer of marine precast have a waterfront location. CPS is located on the southern branch of the Elizabeth River which is part of the ntracoastal Waterway.
