Ceramica, Inc. was launched in Indianapolis, Indiana in 1988 by Dick Light. Dick owned a brick distributorship at the time, and while supplying the face brick to a new hospital in the area, the hospital administrators decided they wanted to sell engraved name brick to grateful patients and veteran employees to place in the lobby.
