Started by Alcee H. Beauchemin in 1949, Beauchemin Lumber began as A.H. Beauchemin & Sons. Alcee originally started the business so that his sons would have a job to look forward to when they returned from war. In 1969, Alcee's son Richard bought the business from his father. Today The yard is co-owned by his daughter, Anne Beauchemin and Steve Beauchemin.
