The store sold building materials and hardware to local builders, contractors and the non-commercial retail customer. As the Caldwell location continued to grow in the community, the Woodson brothers made the decision to broaden their reach and scope of product. They worked hard with a great staff of hard-working local people to expand the business, and opened new locations in Lexington, Bryan and Brenham.After World War II, the second generation began working in the company. The business continued to grow through the decades, and as the third generation joined the family business, Woodson Lumber opened the Mexia, Groesbeck and Buffalo locations.
