One of the worst and most unprofessional experiences in the 10 plus years that I've been doing real estate development. I current am taking legal action. I submitted my deposit for 1/3 the cost of the project. I called the project manager to confirm deliver date. We originally expected 3 weeks to manufacture and deliver but I was told it would be over 10 weeks so I told the women to please hold off on anything so I could pursue other options.

At that time she said they hadn't even started shop drawings. 5 days later I got an email saying shop drawings were complete and I immediately emailed back saying I don't understand why they would have done shop drawings when I told her I didn't want them to proceed because I was looking at other options. Asked for my money back and was told they were charging me $20,000 for the shop drawings! I asked my engineer how much the shop drawings should have cost and he told me $2,000 max. Unilam was unwilling to return my money or provide proof of the amount of hours spent on shop drawings so now we are taking them to court.
