Wingate Supply

This rating is based on the fact that Wingate Supply has been purchased by Horizon and is going through liquidation in order to prepare for the upcoming changes. Inventories are extremely low and many of the products once sold are no longer available and are not being replenished. The once beautifully landscaped grounds are unkept and deteriorating in preparation for upcoming change.

As yet, I do not know what is coming. There is a blue side to Horizon mostly having to do with pools and pool services. Windgate will not be a part of that, no more fountains, pool/pond products and landscaping statues. What inventory is left is discounted and the inside area is almost empty. They continue to do business, wholesale and retail, selling rocks, sand, soils and mulches. What is to come, I am unsure, we will see.

Helpful staff, great prices and selection! Wingate is always my go to landscape supplier for the weekend warrior projects.

Very professional attention and large selection of items to do your dreams outdoors for comfort in your house

With this review I do have to say that normally I have good experiences at this place. However the last five times or so that I've went there for my business's needs I have had issues every single time. I do go there a lot for my company needs. This time was a issue like most was with one of the employees that I later found out was supposedly an assistant manager going all sideways out of his mouth about me when I was trying to explain a situation where I was told one thing and something else happened.

When I returned the disrespect he couldn't handle it and tried to refuse me service. However I guess higher ups or other people decided to proceed with the transaction and it went through without a hitch. I do not blame the company cuz like I said most of the time I do have good experiences there. I do however blame this one person because it seems he's the same one that when there's issues its with him.

So unfortunately I believe that my company's business, all my jobs and people I refer somewhere for material will be looking for another supplier. I will not say don't use them but I would not recommend them either my feelings are neutral but I'm looking for better customer service. Just my last experiences is all I'm sharing with everyone. Update: after a month or two of not going there finding another supplier I go back to give them another shot and things really haven't changed. The staff is a little bit friendlier but that's about it.

Ok, so I haven't been here yet. I called to ask a question for my neighbor. Giving 5 Stars by the way the young lady (Amber) replied. We need more like her! I learned something new, "Scalloped Edges" My neighbor will be going there.

Excellent landscape supply store! They have the best selection of rocks and gravel for your Landscaping needs! You can even buy premixed concrete, mulch, and boulders!

Whoever the Spanish lady is that picks up the phone need to know how to properly answer. I call and she just says hello. Lady you need to introduce yourself or the company to make sure i got the right place. I placed an order for white rocks. It was suppose to get the delivered wed but I i had to reschedule for the following week. Then the next week came and I called and they said they can't deliver the rocks because it turned colore from being next to red rocks. Makes no sense. Why would you even put it near each other. When asked when can i expect the new rocks. They say they don't know

Had a delivery scheduled everything was going great customer service was great during the delivery day here's what happened. Very non-helpful mail calls and says that he's been the delivery driver there for a long time and that he is not going to be able to spread the rock and that he's going to be in a hurry. I indicated this to another lady who was unable to assist and they finally canceled the order.

Then when I try to speak to the original sales person the guy said she's not there she's very busy and they continue to hand hang up on us. This is been witnessed by other people in our business and this company I would not recommend. They canceled our order they would not spread it out even though we indicated we had all the available space and I would not use them again.

As I mentioned trying to speak with the original sales personThat we already had it okayed through Wyngate that the area was clear for a spreader truck but when the delivery driver spoke to us he was being lazy and in a hurry and he said he would not be able to spread it until he came out and could tell them when he got to the job which I understood but then I told them that I would cancel my order if they would not be able to spread it.

They offered no further assistance and they played phone games they could've simply asked for a video or ask for more questions but instead to barely English speaking person hung up on us and this is a typical experience of the Tampa Bay area unfortunately. Great job Wingate he was a bad review. Great job office lady who said that she just works in the office.

Rocks, stones, mulch, statuary, bird baths and other landscaping materials. Service and selection were just fine.
