They act like they're scrap pile is scrap gold. Joe! It's covered in Rust and not even cut Square! don't expect me to pay full price. I only come here after I've been everywhere else, I suggest all my North Glendaliens do the same. -BK

I am shocked by how poorly I was treated by one of the counter sales associates. He told me 3 times my price just went up. I went in with my list on a competitors paper. He circled their name and stated my price just went up. I went in for some solid bar material. And was quoted an astronomical price. It was quoted at $129. It was so bad I had to walk out.

I have been a customer of theirs for over 20 years and I will never step a foot back in that store. There are plenty of other steel yards. I recommend finding a different one. Terrible customer service. By the way I paid $79 at their competitors.

I come here all the time as a weekend homeowner warrior, they are great have product samples on display for me to tell them what I need. A+

Incosistent pricing. Its different from representative to representative. One guy in particular has sarcastic smile and has no customer service attitude. I asked them why pricing is different and he had no response and acting like they don't care. Feel bad for recommending these guys to my friends. Not buyer here anymore.

These guys are great! I've been doing business with them many years, and they always take good care of me and help me with deciding what material to use and other questions I always seem to have.

Great prices and knowledgeable sales staff. One or two (but not all) of the staff can tend to rush you along and don't seem to want to answer your questions. If you know exactly what you want and are a professional fabricator you'll never notice. For the rest of us we have to endure a little mild scolding for asking dumb questions. My first visit I got kind of rushed along, but it was alright since I just needed simple flat steel strips.

The next time I came back he seemed like he was going to rush me along again but then shifted into being really helpful (almost fatherly) and I learned a lot from him. One of the cutters is really helpful too, but the other you need to just not get in his way or get under his skin. Bittersweet experiences every time I'm there, but outstanding prices. Not ever going to be a five star experience, but it doesn't really matter.

Sales staff were very friendly, helpful and easy to work with. Had the best customer service experience I've ever had at a metal supplier. The guys in the yard were also helpful and friendly. Just got a machine shop set up and will be giving them my business for all my steel and aluminum material needs. They also give discounts to Veterans, which is another benefit in buying from them. Aluminum remnants were at an unbeatable price.

I go to Southwest Steel quite often. All the guys are willing to work with you. If you need to go out to the yard to look at materials to ensure youself you are buying what you want, they let you. Clean metal, not rusty. They always have good stock. I highly recommend Southwest Steel.
