Purdy Materials is a locally owned and operated supplier of ready-mix concrete, precast concrete, Redi-Rock blocks, basement walls, sand, gravel, limestone and turfgrass. Our family has been farming in Tippecanoe County for five generations and providing construction materials to mid-North Indiana for more than 25 years.
Services
In 1987, Purdy Concrete built its first batch plant to supply a rapidly growing construction market with ready mix concrete. Over the years, as customers requested new products and additional services, more batch plants and mixer trucks were added. In 1993, Purdy Materials converted 30 acres of farm land from traditional row crops to Kentucky Bluegrass sod.
Our dispatchers are local. When you call to place an order, a dispatcher in Lafayette will answer the phone and speak with you directly. Each dispatcher has access to advanced scheduling software and can communicate in real-time with our ready-mix drivers. All concrete plants are equipped with state-of-the-art computerized batching systems to automate the measurement and load out of each concrete ingredient. Our extensive database of mix designs allow us to supply concrete for a wide range of specifications.
Redi-Rock wall blocks serve a variety of functions, including residential and commercial retaining walls, low-landscaped walls, bridges and culverts, golf courses, swimming pools, highways projects, shoreline protection and retention ponds. Redi-Rock blocks are designed and engineered with the appearance of natural rock, but are made with an architectural-grade precast concrete so they are more durable and less costly than other block systems. All blocks are available in both limestone and cobblestone textures.
Purdy Materials has been building poured concrete walls, footings, foundations, basements, slabs, driveways and patios since 1999. Over the years, we have completed concrete jobs ranging from standard residential basements to large, complex commercial projects. We perform or supervise every aspect of each job from site surveying and excavation to waterproofing and exterior flat work.

Not happy with my experience using Purdy for "Top Soil" This started with a bad experience on the phone with Tammy. She was rude and short when we asked questions about the top soil they have. We received top soil and it was a load of clay, rocks, and dirt. It was fill dirt. AJ, came out to confirm they sold me top soil, but we should have asked for the PULVERIZED top soil, which Tammy failed to tell us about on the phone.

We clearly explained our application and that we needed this top soil to grow new grass. I asked for a refund or for someone to come out and help break the large chunks up. AJ walked away and told me to dispute the charge with my bank. I will never use Purdy and will recommend everyone to go to another place in town for any landscaping needs.
