Becky at Newport is fantastic! Without her, we would not be able to have those beautiful 1-2 rocks!

I appreciate the feedback from Michael, Omar and Melissa. I read reviews before dealing with new companies. We will NOT be doing business with this company. If you are rude and treat local customers poorly, you do not deserve to be in business.

Very helpful office ladies! They were very informative of what I needed for my project and willing to walk me outside and show me the products and services they offered. I would definitely recommend them to anyone!

Rude lady on phone. I will take my business somewhere else. That's not a good way to treat a customer that buys Tons of stones every year!

Placed an order of well over $1000, but they didn't want the business I guess. No delivery, no call to tell me they wouldn't be delivering. Rude and completely uncaring staff that apparently only wants to fill orders for much bigger dollar amounts than one of us "little guys". I believe they could benefit from some serious customer service training!

Walked into this business and I have never dealt with such a rude lady in my life. I will never darken that door again. You might have 600 customers but you sure won't for long being so rude

No communication available at this place. Unless you are a large commercial buyer, do not bother going there to trade with them. No need to call either, they'll only answer to tell you that you're account is in good standing but they won't answer any extension that will let you know they won't sell their river rock to you. You get to drive 30 miles just to find that out when you get there.

I would rate them a zero if I could! They were supposed to be here Monday January 11 between the hours of 11 & 2. They never showed up or even called. Today I was going to the car to go to the store and this big truck pulls up then a husky rude man came walking up and asked me for $342.00. I said who are you? He said Newport Sand & Gravel, and you have a delivery.

I said you were supposed to be here yesterday, and you were a no show and no call. He said the truck broke down! but I'm here now. I figured ok, since they are finally here, why not. Then the unreliable driver asked for the whole amount before he would do anything. The general concept of a service, is that a company performs a service then gets paid for that service.

Not the other way around! So I figured I would meet him half way, so I said I will gladly pay you half now, then when you are done (in about a half hour), I will pay the other half. He said NO, pay all now or he was leaving. I said no way, you can leave if you want. He said "I get paid anyway from the company, so I don't care if you want the gravel or not".

In my opinion, I believe that he had no intention to actually do the driveway with gravel. The reason I say this is because his coworker never got out of the truck, as worker do when they get to a job site. Plus the truck was still running up on the road, already past my driveway. In my opinion, it was the old, you pay now, and we will bring the gravel later, and never show up.

No Way! After he drove away, I looked up to the back of the dump truck and it did not look like there was 10 tons of gravel that I ordered in the truck. Thank God, that I didn't fall for his tricks. Everything written above by me falls under the 1st amendment of the United States of America. In my opinion, of course!

I put in an order for 20 ton of crush and run weeks ago they still never showed up. When their office girls called they claim they didn't have crush and run and I had to buy the next more expensive gravel. they claim they couldn't deliver until the road had been dry we had a solid week of dry weather they never showed up and then called me the day before it was supposed to rain and said they would deliver the next day if it didn't rain which it did. Talking to their office staff is like talking to a wet towel. Absolutely terrible service!

Would have loved to give them business. Not accepting new accounts even though prices were given over the phone when we budgeted the project a few months ago when I called. Wanted an entire dump truck load of river rock. Now have to buy from another supplier at double or more of the cost because they won't sell unless you are a past customer. Very disappointed in this experience of trying to give business and being turned away!

I had ordered 3 truckloads of #57 gravel and Newport Sand & gravel never showed up on the day we arranged delivery. They never called us to let us know. My husband called them and they told us they had a problem with their truck. So we arranged another day for delivery for a month later, and they did call us the same morning they were supposed to deliver the gravel and said the factory had a problem with the machine they use to make the gravel. It's pretty ridiculous.

They don't seem to care either if you're not happy. Unfortunately there aren't a lot of options in this area. A good company that puts customer satisfaction as a priority would be very successful and give the playing field some competition in the gravel industry. Unhappy customer.

Beware of the inflated delivery charges. EXTRA beware if you pick up rock yourself.they offer to load for you but they use an enormous bucket on a loader. They will not hesitate to dump the rock down the sides and/or back of your vehicle.
