Horrible customer service. The owner is incredibly rude and could care less about his customers.

Had a great time visiting Merritt, Joe, Dena and the team. Absolutely great place for reclaimed lumber and eco-friendly interior design ideas.

Hell no! One day, the phone rings, and someone is asking if I'm ----. No. You've called the wrong number. I hang up the phone 2 minutes later, phone rings again, "is this--?" No. Wrong number. Another 2 minutes later, phone rings, "is this --?" No. Stop calling here. the next day, the phone rings "is this--?" You called here yesterday. stop calling me.

You 2 minutes later, phone rings "is this--? "What's wrong with you? You called here yesterday and already today. Stop calling here." Another minute goes by and the phone rings again. My response "This isn't --, stop calling here. Can't be an clearer." I hang up. THIS GOES ON FOR 6 MONTHS! They start calling leaving messages THREATENING TO KILL ME.

One comment was "if you don't admit to being-- we are going to find out who you are, where you live and take care of you." My immediate response was "You know who youre calling, correct?" "Yes." "Well if you know who you're calling, why do you have to find out who you're calling?" "Um, uh, " *click* I had to get a restraining order! I went ballistic on them!

I asked for someone's personal, private cell phone number, and they're response: "why would I want you call me threatening to kill me? No way!" "Now you know how I feel!" And had to be restrained from assaulting them. Is this the type of company you want to hire? Are these the type of people you want in your home?

If I could give lower than a 1 star. I would. Let me start off by saying this company is FRAUDULENT! Do NOT order ANYTHING through them. Stay far away! I ordered a beam for my house in March & I still do not have the beam, yet I am being charged for the full amount of $731.91! Wild right? The story gets better. Ever since the day that my beam was promised to be delivered ( March 14 ) I have been calling & emailing this company nonstop.

The receptionist was the only one to answer. It was very funny that the owner, Merritt Fine, was never in office or available to speak or answer my emails. However, initially he was available to answer my calls/emails to take my credit card information. On the original receipt he gave me it does NOT say non refundable. Every single time my husband or I called, (which was multiple times) the lady at front desk kept apologizing giving me every excuse in the book.

One phone call she told me her workers were not showing up to work due to COVID. The next phone call she told me they lost the beam. Another time, they found the beam but it wasn't finished. Then there weren't any delivery guys working. She couldn't give me a day that the beam would be delivered. I called other lumber yards in Brooklyn and Queens and all were working and running with workers despite the lockdown. Anyway, after days/weeks of this I decided to cancel my order and order from another lumber yard who was up and running.

The receptionist told me, "I understand, we are sorry. Because our company was unable to fulfill your order we will refund you the full amount." Well, funny because they decided to still charge us for a product I never received. Once I realized this I called my credit card company and M Fine Lumbers nonstop to dispute this. My credit card company showed me the credit card receipt that M Fine Lumbers put in to dispute and they submitted false documents to my credit card company.

The receipt they submitted has a different name on the original receipt, different date of purchase and a much higher price. I have called them multiple times and left multiple emails to Merritt. Still nothing. Recently, the receptionist told me Merritt is busy and can't speak with you but I am refunding you the full amount. More than 10 days passed and I never received the refund on my credit card. Thankfully, I have a good credit card company that disputed this for the second time. In conclusion, stay far away from this company! They are SO unprofessional and fraudulent! This entire situation is unbelievable, but sadly true.

Customer service is great. Joe was helpful and able to find me exactly what I needed. If people complained about delivery times, the clearly don't understand the work the goes into refurbished pieces. They point the time in to get them right. Highly suggest.

I've had the pleasure of working with the wonderful people at M. Fine for a decade. They've been rockstars helping with all of my bizarre and complicated requests as a bar/restaurant designer in Brooklyn. I cannot recommend them enough.

Went here in search of reclaimed lumber to make shelves for my apt. Couldn't have asked for nicer people to help me find the perfect planks. Joe is a gem of a human being! Amazing selection and great prices. Thank you guys!

Asked for straight, planed and sized pieces of wood for built structures and they ship the pieces in pictures. Went at the shop asking my Money back and they didn't give my money back! Such a shame, worst experience of my life! Order of 40 pcs paid $700!

Amazing assortment of reclaimed wood and timber. Their prices are very reasonable compared to all others in our area. They even build furniture with their materials. Go take a look you won't be dissatisfied.

Went in one day to search for reclaimed lumber for our floating shelves and mantle - there is a huge variety of wood there that is actually too overwhelming (a good thing meaning there's so much to pick from). Customer service from Joe and the guys in the back who handle sanding the wood, etc, were great! They were attentive to what we wanted and helped us search for the perfect one.

We placed and order and they said it would be ready within 2 weeks of pick up! (They weren't complicated orders at all) BUT Their customer service on the follow-up end is atrocious. I've been calling the last three days and every time I get in contact with someone, I've given them the contact name, phone number, and order number and was told that I would receive a phone call with the status info "within the next 30 minutes". It's already two weeks late and I haven't heard anything from them!

I have had a really disappointing experience with M Fine. They messed me around more times than I can count trying to facilitate a very simple order. They promised delivery on a certain date to which they failed, and then proceeded to deliver two very wrong orders to what I had paid for. They promised to refund for the wrong orders, and its been almost two weeks of them promising, and now they are no longer responding and they are now ignoring my calls.

This is not just bad business, but its crook and I strongly suggest avoiding business with these people. Since my order, a few stories have come out from different people I have spoken to who worked with them stating that my incident is not isolated. I would stay far away.

I use M Fine for ALL my high end customers. From custom cabinets, shelves, and vanities to custom furniture. Their selection of reclaimed species is huge and they even miter the edges for me! Highly recommended

I recently purchased live edge slab for my bar and Merritt was able to help me select the best pieces for my project, as well as get them delivered to my home in Pennsylvania. If you're looking for reclaimed lumber, this is the place to go check out!

Absolutely horrible business to work with service wise. Although the wood is beautiful it is not worth the hassle. The wood came late, and was cut to the wrong size for my specific project and needs. They over charged my credit card hundreds of dollars for this oversight (meaning they made me pay for the wood I never asked for and cannot use because it's too long) and now won't refund me nor return my emails or phone calls.

I happened to order a second order of wood from them at the same time and it also came in the wrong size and didn't fit into the uhaul truck that I rented to transport it, even though I specifically asked them to make sure it was the right length for the truck. They then proceeded to chain saw the wood off the back of the uhaul truck in front of me. I've spent thousands of dollars now with this company, one would expect better customer service.

They don't give a care in the world about the experience of the customer. If you read other reviews on the better business bureau website you will see similar reviews. This is not a new game for them. Buyer beware.

Don't ever order anything from here. They are a bunch of idiots. I have been building furniture for years and have never seen a business run quite as badly as this. I ordered a couple thousand dollars worth of wood. My order was almost 2 weeks late. (Because the owner who took the order went on vacation and no one knew about it). Then I went to a clients house, waited for 3 hours to accept a delivery just to be told it's coming 2 days later. They don't call back. They put you on hold until you eventually hang up. And their prices are higher then anyone's. Im actually disgusted by these people.

If I could leave a review with negative stars, I would. We put in a rush order of pine, for which we gave a deposit, and were given a delivery date of ten days. That was six weeks ago and the lumber still has yet to arrive. But what's more disheartening is the lack of communication, specifically a complete failure to respond to requests for updates.

We have called over ten times, left at least 5 messages, and at this point have little to show for it beyond our frustration. Several times when we actually did make contact, we were given specific delivery dates, so we arranged to have someone there to meet the delivery, but nothing ever came. In one instance we were even told that they were on their way!

After several attempts to reach him, Merritt Fine (of M Fine) has not once returned a phone call. The lumber delivery is now holding up several projects, for which contractors and others are lined up and ready. It's difficult to understand why someone would want to conduct business in this manner and expect to have any repeat customers.

Merritt and Joe were fantastic. There selection is remarkable. They made shelves for my kitchen that get oohs and ahhs from everyone! The exact sixe was not available, but they were able to configure the shelves and finish them so they were exactly waht I wanted. I have recommended them to everyone, looking for something special!

If you need reclaimed lumber and you live in NYC, M Fine is the place to go! Old beams, floorboards, joists, railroad ties and logs are stacked neatly into 10 x 10 foot piles that cover acres of land. I needed some test wood for a project and the owners let me take a few beautiful old oak boards for free on the condition that I tip the guys who drove the forklift and cut them for me.

Because of this, I am sure the prices are pretty reasonable. This place is not easy to find. The lot is hidden behind a corrugated metal fence in industrial Brooklyn and the parking can be tight, but it is definitely worth a visit.
