Highly recommend Lewis Floor & Home. Had carpeting installed in two rooms and they were quick and transparent with pricing and process. We did have a hiccup with where the seam would hit in my living room but they fixed the issue and relaid the carpet so the seam would be more hidden. Will be going back to them to finish carpeting the rest of my bedrooms.

Terrible customer service. I received a call from Sharon, the customer service rep, 15 minutes into my install saying they made a mistake and what was previously communicated and confirmed by Lewis via phone calls and email as well what they offered in their contract was wrong and I owed over 50% more to finish the job they just started. Only after being berated by Sharon who questioned my morals and asked how can I sleep at night knowing I was stealing from them and Djuro, the General Manager who said I should have known they made a mistake - something that was not evident from the paperwork and contrary to all previous communications from the store - did they agree to live by the terms of the contract in exchange for me never shopping there again. In short, question anything they put in writing because they have no qualms about backing out once the job has begun.

Lewis doesn't stand by their quotes or contracts. I receive a quote for my basement, paid a deposit for the basement and decided to have them quote my bedroom as the carpet I selected was on sale. I received a follow-up quote in an email that stated "here is the new contract with everything included." The new contract stated Lewis was going to carpet the basement, stairs, landing and my bedroom, the square footage and price both increased proportionally and diagrams of both the basement, bedroom and stairs with landing were all included in this new contract as well.

I was told they would charge me the difference between the old and new quote to bring the deposit to their required 50%. I schedule the install and Lewis charged the balance of the new contract. The day of the install Sharon, the customer service manager, calls to inform me that they made a mistake and the basement carpeting was not ordered nor included in the pricing of the second, more expensive quote.

When pointed out that I made my decision based on their quote and we had a signed contract Sharon questioned my morals and asked how I slept at night knowing I was stealing from a family owned business. When I asked about the morality of not standing behind their word and contract I was told they made a mistake and I had to pay for it. We went back and forth with Sharon offering to split the difference in the cost they claim was omitted from the revised contract but I felt we had a deal and a signed contract that they should stand behind. Additionally, when I asked Sharon to show me the error as the contract detailed what was included with the corresponding diagrams she replied she didn't know and to trust her.

I ended up selecting an in stock carpet to be installed 2 days later and Sharon finally agreed to have it installed per the terms of our signed contract with no extra charge to me. The next day I receive a call from Sharon stating she talked to Djuro the General Manager of the store and the deal she agreed to the day before was off and I had to pay the installation charge of over $900 to Lewis to carpet my basement.

I ended up speaking to both Djuro and Sharon where Sharon once again questioned my morals and Djuro told me I should have known the contract was wrong, despite the extremely clear representation made by Lewis stating the quote and contract was for everything. In the end Djuro agreed to cover the cost of the installation and in exchange I was asked never to shop at Lewis again. Considering the atrocious customer service I just experienced never going back was a decision I had already made. In the end don't expect Lewis to stand by a quote or contract, you as the consumer have to know when they, the carpeting professionals, claim to have made mistake.

Don't bother. Walked in without an appointment and the woman at front desk could not have been more rude. She talked to me like I was a threat to their day. I asked if I was not allowed to peruse the store and her tone was so condescending. I see no reason to reward this store with my business

They have great customer service and their variety of products is unmatched! Their prices are about par for the course and delivery times seem to be a little long, but I think that's because we're just coming off of Covid-19.

I'm giving two stars because the showroom is large and pleasant and the process to check out samples was easy. Everything else about my experience was 1 star or less. Lewis requires/requests an appointment to get into their showroom. I dutifully made mine and organized my day around it so as to be prompt. I was, of course, kept waiting over 20 minutes as my salesperson helped another customer.

When I asked if someone else could help me, I was told I could look around the showroom by myself as I waited for my salesperson. What exactly is the purpose of an appointment? Isn't looking around a showroom by yourself and waiting for a salesperson what you do in establishments without an appointment policy? Strike one! My salesperson was Victor.

I was not impressed with his familiarity with the carpet selection. I took a sample of carpet I wanted to match as to pile height and density. I also took a paint sample that I wanted to match as to color. It took him close to an hour to find what I was looking for. Many years ago I went to Lewis for carpeting and took a sample of wallpaper to color match.

At that time it took the salesperson less than 5 minutes to find several options. I took some samples home and returned them which was easy (see above). I called Victor and scheduled a measure ($100) which was also easy. The measure guy showed up at approximately the agreed time. So far things were improving. Then everything took a huge nose dive.

I received the estimate and it was ludicrously high. It called for close to 50% more carpet than necessary. When I called Victor, he said that was the cost. No effort to work with me. I asked for a quote for a reduced amount of carpet, no pad, without installation, without removal. Just the carpet. He did not send it. I contacted him again. He finally sent it but it still called for the extra 50% of carpet, the padding, and the removal.

He deducted $200 for installation. I contacted him twice more. Once I called to discuss binding options. He effectively hung up on me, announcing mid-conversation that he "had to go." He never called back. Strike 2. I emailed him again and asked for a revised estimate for less carpet, no padding, no removal, and I would pick it up. No response. I waited 17 days.

Strike 3. Finally I emailed him again explaining my dissatisfaction. No response, no surprise. I have purchased both carpet and countertops from Lewis in the past. No more. The service is abysmal if not downright insulting. I purchased the carpet I wanted for less than 1/2 what Lewis wanted with one phone call. My advice is to shop elsewhere.

As a returning customer I expected Lewis Floor & Home would be a top choice of material and workmanship for the redo of my living room and den. I chose Lewis knowing the cost would be higher than one of others in the field because I thought I would be getting a superior experience. Wrong. I could have saved myself dollars as well as aggravation by going elsewhere.

While initially a pleasure to work with both the carpet and window treatment departments, once the order was placed things started to go down hill. Due to the pandemic a certain amount of delay was taken into consideration but periodic calls to ensure things were in the works would have been appreciated. Instead I had to call to get updates on expected deliveries of both the carpeting and window treatments.

The installation of carpet resulted in a blatant and unattractive, very obvious seam running the length of the living room. Of the seven Hunter Douglas window blinds ordered, three were made incorrectly and what was already a lengthy wait, was protracted by another month with lopsided half done window treatments up, not the least bit attractive or acceptable.

No compensation for inconvenience was offered. Workmen sent out to address the carpet seam issue were incompetent to say the least and did not lessen the obvious fault. After briefly pounding along the edge with a hammer while grumbling that "it is what it is" the two bumbling workmen called it a day and I am now left to live with an unacceptable result after a $6,000 outlay.

After waiting for over two months for the window treatments to come, the installer tried his best to repair one of the seven window blinds, spending an hour extra of his time but finally giving up and adding that to be reordered along with the two others that were poorly manufactured, resulting in yet another wait of over a month. All in all, not the professional high level of material or service I had anticipated. An overall disappointment in Lewis Carpet & Home and I unfortunately would not recommend this company.

Living in the past. Stay away. Ridiculously high pricing, if anything is ever going to be in stock again. Customer service is at best draconian. No loyalty or even recognition as a repeat customer. Their prices are still always nosebleed high and god help you if you need service. Try and talk to their wonderful service dept. headed up by the incredibly rude Sharon.

I have seen a common theme with other reviews. Any problem is NEVER something that their crew omitted or didn't do properly. It's impossible for them to have a miscommunication that causes a problem that is their responsibility. Simply impossible. You can Pay 10K for new carpet installed. Need something touched up or double checked. 200$ and that's IF they care enough to even get back to you.

They called me a "liar" when I indicated an install problem that they needed to fix. Time will catch up with them shortly if the last reviews are any indication. Website is unusable, why even have one if all you can do is "make an appointment." Time for this dinosaur to go extinct.

Sales design consultant is rude and unprofessional. We wanted the blinds to be installed certain way and she replied with, "I would not like to have your shades installed as you want. Why would you want to ___?" In addition to never answering our questions in emails. Snobby attitude and zero business etiquette. Money better spent elsewhere.

We've done business with Lewis over the years and liked it because it's convenient and they have a nice selection. We just had carpet put it, and although we are happy with the product, we have had a less than optimal experience with their customer service. Poor communication, they haggle and are inefficient with trivial things (samples), somewhat pushy salespeople (likely heavily commission based, where if you need something and your salesperson isn't there -- tough luck), and arrogant/rude customer service.

They (customer service) act like they are doing us a favor, despite the fact we have spent a LOT of money supporting their business. I don't mind spending a little more as long as I get a good quality product, helpful expertise, and customer service. But I have to say I was disappointed. Perhaps for small projects they are fine, for larger projects do your research and look around --because if you have an issue they're probably not going to be too helpful. I really felt like they could care less about customer satisfaction.

Large showroom with a relaxed atmosphere and welcoming sales staff. Not just a vast flooring selection, they also have authentic wool rugs, wall tiles and stone. Interior design team will boost your confidence to create a stylish look. They've been in business for as long as I've been driving down I94, and that's for a good reason.

Wants full payment prior to completion, claiming COVID-19 They're nice and have a lot of samples on display. The person to whom we were assigned frequently never called us back. But the real issues are financial. 1. We found the exact same carpet at Toms Price for 50cents/foot less 2. We still decided to stay with Lewis, but they insisted on full payment several days before installation.

They told me item 3 was a new rule instituted in March due to COVID-19. Did they think I was going to die on them? They said it's no different than ordering an applicance from Abt, but the difference here is that installation is a service. It makes it impossible to complain about issues like incorrect measuring on their part or poor installation. Did you ever have to prepay 100% for a painter or a dentist.

Simple fact --it's greed here. Thankfully, installation was well done but the new carpet has a non-matching seam in the middle of the floor. Not sure what to do about it, but next time I'll go elsewhere. I don't need what I consider to be COVID opportunists.

We purchased a home with existing older carpet in the finished basement. We were referred to Lewis Carpet to purchase new carpet. Our sales rep Oxana was very knowledgeable, helpful, efficient, and very pleasant. The carpet was installed in May 2019. Two months later in July, water flooded our basement and soaked a large area of the carpet. We paid our contractor to remove it and dry it out immediately.

The pad was ruined and discarded and it remains to be seen if the carpet that was flooded is able to be salvaged and reinstalled with a new pad. After removal we were able to see the tack strip in one area was severely molded and partially disintegrated. We had several people evaluate it- our general contractor, three project managers and four plumbers from two separate companies.

Every one of them confirmed it takes years for the strip to become molded in this fashion, and it was positively black with mold and crumbling when the carpet was installed. To investigate, we removed the drywall in the area to find large voids where the concrete wall does not meet the foundation (completed in 1998). So this flooding has been a recurrent problem for years that we would have addressed before installing new carpet. Pictures are attached.

Not only should Lewis have informed us that there was existing mold under the old carpet, they should have never reused an existing tack strip in that condition. We contacted Lewis Carpet immediately after seeing the existing mold. Jake, who apparently handles the installations told us their installers (which are separate contractors) know to never to put in a carpet pad or carpet when they discover mold.

After no further contact by Lewis to show any concern whatsoever, I then emailed Jake in November with pictures and confirmation from all the contractors. Sharon was the Lewis rep who responded for me to call her. That phone conversation was far from pleasant as she insisted that her installers would never install carpet over a moldy tack strip, and they would have stopped and cancelled the installation. Sharon was extremely rude and insulting.

Our contractors advised us to insist that the carpet, pad and strip should all be brand new, replaced by Lewis. Yet all we asked for was to place a new tack strip and pad, and we would not mind salvaging the flooded carpet if possible. If the Lewis Carpet installer would have told us there was mold, it would have saved much time, aggravation, and several thousand dollars.

After the new carpet was removed, we had to open the concrete floor and install drain tiles and patch the concrete wall. All of this would have been done in May rather than November, and our move in date would not have been delayed 6 months. It is almost a year since the installation, and we still do not have carpet in the area. They clearly installed brand new carpet and pad over a moldy tack strip. We would recommend a company who is professional, courteous, proud of their work, and has a concern for their customers- not Lewis Carpet.

Victor my sales person was awesome. Very knowledgeable and helpful. That's were the my wonderful experience ends with Lewis Floor ends. There was a lot miscommunication and problems with the carpet installation. Jake the customer service specialist took all my concerns very lightly. I choose Lewis because they very highly recommend. However, my experience was terrible. Definitely will not be doing business with them again.

Remodeling is such a mess-we were dreading it. But Lewis Floor & Home was a total pleasure to work with, from our first question to our final installation. We never had one moment of aggravation, and our new floor looks beautiful. We couldn't be happier. Thanks!

Marni and Mary Kay helped me pick out window treatments for my new condo and I couldn't be happier. They listened effectively to my taste and then presented options that they thought I would like - given the sheer number of choices available, their ability to help narrow down the field to a manageable set of options gave me the ability to really decide what I wanted. They followed up on emails promptly and didn't try to steer me to the most expensive options, but rather what they thought would look great.

Had a great experience working with Marni Lewis and James De La Garza for our blinds. Marni did an amazing job suggesting colors and texture options for each room and worked with us on pricing since we had such a large amount of windows that needed window treatments! She also left samples and models that allowed us to take our time and decide on the best options for our new place. James, was the field service technician, he came to do all the measurements and the installations.

He was fast, efficient and didn't leave a mess when putting up all the blinds. He also took the time to show me how all the different remotes or lifting devices worked and how to connect the hub to my phone and set up different scenes to make opening and closing the new blinds easy! Would definitely work with them both again and would highly recommend them to all our friends and family!

I would give 6 stars if I could. The two salespeople, Patrick and Jo, I dealt with were extremely patient and helpful. Saul, who came to my condo to measure the two bedrooms, was very efficient and answered several questions. Jake, who coordinated the deliver and installation, was responsive and on top of all the details. Jesus and his son were very careful at moving the heavy furniture and putting it back exactly where I wanted it and did a perfect job of installing the carpeting. And the carpeting looks fantastic.

Our experience with Lewis Flooring was perfect. They have a great selection of products and we were able to take samples home to help with the selection process. We selected carpet for the entire house and vinyl for the basement. Both were installed on the date promised and the workmanship was superb. I highly recommend these guys.

Lawrence Lambert did a wonderful job designing my new kitchen. It is gorgeous and I get a lot of compliments on it. He also connected me to various other contractors (plumbing, painting, electric, etc.) that I hired for the overall project. I also really appreciated his helping me troubleshoot various other items. However, the back-end of Lewis (quoting, ordering, scheduling) was very frustrating. And since Lawrence no longer works for Lewis, I would not recommend them.

I really would not disregard the bad reviews here. If a project goes smoothly without a hitch or any need for customer support, then fine - any tile place will do. But if you value customer service, then Lewis is not the place to go. They honestly have the worst customer service I have ever experienced - and that's saying a lot. I purchased the Live in Stone tile here which my contractor installed in a shower.

One of the pieces required cutting 3 holes for the shower head and controls - which really is not that unusual. After 4 attempts and 2 different tile guys, no one was able to cut this tile without it breaking "like glass" according to both tile guys (who by the way were completely independent and didn't know each other). Each time, it broke along almost a straight line.

Both tile guys said no true porcelain tile should do this. I emailed Lewis' customer service who defensively said it wasn't the tile, as this is "premium" tile. And yet they refused my request to have their own tile guys make the cuts for me - even if I paid for it. I sent a picture of the piece I needed, and the response I got from the manager of customer service was "I don't have any available installers to do this for you. Sorry." That's it - no effort to help come up with a solution, no offer to reach out to the manufacturer for suggestions, no offer of a full or partial refund.

That is not customer service. That is not a company that stands behind its products. The only saving grace is that this is a smaller project for me - we have a much bigger one planned and I'm thankful I found this out before. I will not be going back to Lewis, and will encourage my friends, family, clients, etc. to stay away.

Lewis Floor and Home installed carpet in our theatre room and a room in the basement that we converted to a large bedroom. The salesman was very knowledgeable and professional and took lots of time taking us around the extensive showroom to show us the many options available to us. They gave us great recommendations, the installers did a fantastic job installing the carpet and left our home immaculate!

We feel that we received very fair pricing and the service is second to none. We will be going back to complete other flooring areas in our home and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for flooring.

Sales team was delightful and very helpful! My sales person made life very easy for me when choosing my carpet. Estimate was pretty accurate. Quality of product and installation was very good and well worth the price. There was a small Snafu on installation timing. Installer showed up about 2 hours earlier than I was told, luckily I was home. Overall I'm extremely satisfied with price, quality, and timeliness! I'd definitely use Lewis again when doing a floor project.

Larry was a pleasure to work with and our kitchen remodel is everything we dreamed it would be. Any home remodel is stressful but working with Larry made the process much easier. Larry was always available to help and answer questions and stayed true to the timeline he had originally given us. If any issues arose, he was always quick to respond or find an answer to the problem at hand. Amidst our kitchen remodel, we also re-stained our floors with another flooring company and Larry made that process stress free as possible and worked the kitchen renovations around the flooring schedule which was extremely helpful. I would 100% work with Larry again on any home renovation and would definitely recommend Lewis Flooring and Home to anyone who is interested in doing a home renovation!

My wife and I worked with Larry for a set of built-in custom cabinets. We are very happy with the end result. The cabinets are high quality and look great. Larry made himself available for questions and to address the few issues we had. The installer was an excellent carpenter and constantly cleaned up as he went. It did take some time to get thru the initial steps of design and agreement on a contract due to a few electronic communication issues. Would recommend in person interaction vs relying on email.

I'll start this out positive as I did not have a great experience and would not recommend them to anyone. First, Lewis does have a large assortment of product to choose from and can be a one stop shop, carpet, tile, counters, etc. After many places I looked although more expensive at I decided on Lewis for my porcelain floors as well as carpet for my bedroom because they had what I liked best.

I am not going to name names but as nice as my sales person came off in the end she as well as other Lewis employees caused me headaches as they mis-quoted me prices, then would not honor the original prices, didn't follow through in a timely matter among, told me that i should have chosen something different if I didn't want it to be so expensive, ordered way too much product and charged me for it, just to name a few things and in the end to re-tile and carpet 800 sq. ft cost me WAY more than originally expected.

Basically I felt as if the numerous sales people that helped me know how to sell their product but does not know anything about them. At the end of the day the Gabriel and his team did an amazing job with my tile and I LOVE it and would pick the same tile again, just from somewhere else. Also, Michelle in Customer Service was the only one that truly listened to all my concerns and wanted to make a bad experience a good one and in the end she did honor the original price that was quoted to me as well as credited me for the overage that was. Thank you Michelle for ending my experience in a positive way as the whole process leading up to the end was anything but.

Update: Still nothing from Lewis--no apologies, no sincere concern that our flooring, which cost us over 5k, started showing significant wear after one week. They put me in touch with the brand rep, and this was his response to my concerns (see email screenshot).

While I hope it will be a few months before baby #3 is ready to crawl (not looking forward to chasing after 3 kids), my floors are ready for it! When we moved 3.5 years we held off on doing any work to the basement. It's served its purpose well as a kid play zone, but after spending countless hours of my life down there I was ready for a little basement makeover including new furniture, paint and carpet! I've only shopped at home carpet one for past carpet needs, but when my decorator suggested we meet there or at Lewis I chose the option that was 5 minutes from my house.

Time is precious these days! I was impressed. Lewis may even be worth a trip from the city! They had lots to choose from that met my 3 requirements: 1) soft 2) affordable 3) kid proof The sales rep was very friendly and chatty, but we were out of there (with a few samples in hand) within 20 min. An hour later (after checking out the samples in my actual basement) I ordered the carpet.

They told me it would take 2 weeks to come in, but I got a call within days that it had arrived. It almost arrived too soon since I had to paint first, but they nicely held on to it until I was ready. On carpet installation day their crew of 3 arrived at 830am and promptly got to work. They didn't stop until they were done 6.5 hours. They had to move a lot of stuff to get the carpet replaced (toys, toys and more toys) and tried their best to put things back in the right place but it was a little bit of a mess after.

Then again my next task is toy organization so hopefully that will be taken care of soon. The carpet looks and feels even better than I expected and time will tell if it holds up with my 3 little monkeys. I hope it will be awhile before I need to put new carpet in our house, but Lewis will be my first stop when the time comes.
