Nice variety of option, TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. The customer service is terrible. Multiple workers gave terrible attitude and acted like helping us was an issue when it's literally their job. Also, the man loaded too much rock into our truck (we weighed over what we asked for), and the front office people put up a fuss that we wouldn't be able to return it.

Easy way to make money. just load too much and force you to pay (HA!). HIRE PEOPLE WHO ARE HAPPY TO WORK AND WILLINGLY HELPFUL TO PAYING CUSTOMERS. We are paying you by buying rocks, treat your customers with some decency. *this review is for front office lady that worked on 6/24 with no name tag for us to specify* I don't often leave bad reviews, or take reviews seriously, but I wish I would have taken all the previous bad reviews seriously for this place because they are true.

My husband and I stopped by because we have a yard project we want to start on that will require some large stone. We waited until there was a chance to be greeted by the employees at the desk. A lady finally came over and immediately started at us with an attitude that was unwarranted. Serious nasty chip on her shoulder and then thrown in snide comments from the lady at the other end of the counter.

We just had an inquiry to prices on field stone. No judgement or attitude was necessary. We will NOT be patronizing this local business. We work too hard for our money and will choose to spend it where customer service isn't a battlefield!

This was my first and only experience at a place like this but the people working in the office are not very helpful or friendly. I do like the way they have all of their product displayed so you can drive through and chose what you like. The guys working in the yard will wrap and weigh for you. I purchased some material and had it delivered within 2 business days.

The delivery experience was great - the driver called me well in advance of his arrival and placed product nicely. I've been told they have the best selection / pricing in the area.

Reviewer Mom H. Had it right the people that work here are a miserable lot. There's a big sign in the front that says all visitors must check in. I got out of my truck went to check in and while in line one of the ladies yelled "whose truck is this?" I said mine and with a nasty attitude says "that's not a parking space!". And this was not my first run-in with them where they are proactively nasty.

I've used LaFarge twice for projects at home. The selection is much wider than any of the DIY stores in the area, and the cost is significantly better. I've been pleased with both of my experiences, and have found the staff to be helpful in terms of support and advice (e.g. how much stone needed for the sq. footage of my project, how much weight my vehicle is able to tolerate).

Lafarge has miserable people working for them. I have had to go in several times for a project bc I can only take so many stones home at a time and the lady behind the counter is rude and demeaning to all the customers. If you have to go there.make sure you wait to talk to Victor. Pandemic or not.the lady behind the counter should treat people with respect. She obviously is bitter to have to work. It's really sad that management doesn't see this.

Do not buy from this place, they're incompetent and may end up jeopardizing whatever project you're working on. I had reserved 5 tons of stone from Lafarge 1 month in advance of my project date, they took my credit card number and everything. The day before my project, I get a call in the morning saying to call them back, something regarding the stone.

I call back and get Patty who is dumbfounded as to why I was calling and assures me there's no issues with my order. Later in the day she calls me back, now all of a sudden they don't have the stone. As I started to complain, I didn't care for her tone, she even had the audacity to put me on hold for 5 minutes, probably hoping I would hang up and go away.

I consider myself extremely flexible and understanding. All I ask is to be notified as soon as the product isn't available, and I find it hard to believe that they "just happened" to run out the day before my project. More than likely someone lost track of my reservation and it was sold elsewhere, and they don't monitor their upcoming orders far enough in advance to give people a heads-up when this happens. Fortunately I found another landscaping company (Illinois Landscape Supply, LLC) that was able to bail me out.

They had stone similar to what I was looking for, and were able to do a last-minute same day shipment to get me what I needed on-time. Look to them or the dozens of other places located in the area, don't bother with Lafarge.
