Johnson Lumber is a family-owned Eastern White Pine Sawmill nestled in the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains between Carthage and Deer River, in New York State. Locally grown Eastern White Pine logs are fully utilized in the production of lumber, log cabin logs, shavings, bark, and fiber. Beautiful product, installed over a mile of the 6 V-groove blue stain pine, looks amazing, one of a kind stuff. Overall. The quality, and straightness of the Johnson Pre finish pine, makes installation for contractors fast and efficient, and its the easiest of projects for any DIY'er or homeowner. The rise of battery powered finish nailers make it even easier.
To me, the grooved ends really sets Johnsons apart from anything else, no more measuring and having to butt on a stud, minimizing to all but eliminating waste, and giving an incredible look, that can't be had from big box or stock lumber yard pine. It would take someone with a lot of upfront experience, a lot of time, with unfinished stock pine, to ever approach the look someone with little to no experience can get right off the pallet.
No poly, no staining, no wrestling bowed boards into place, no in between steps, it arrives as finished product, it's up, it's done, it only cost more up front on paper, it's a far superior value at the end of the job, there is really no comparison. Support was incredible, I dealt with one of the Johnson's beforehand when I had questions about the product.
During the project a small issue totally out of their control arose, I contacted them, again I dealt directly with one of the Johnsons, They coordinated with where I purchased and had my problem solved right away, truly a family business, it's obvious their products mean a lot to them.

What an outstanding company. Very responsive to any request and great communication from this family-owned business. We always get the pre-finished T&G from Johnson's Lumber and the finished product is always beautiful. They take pride in making sure their products are well bundled to ensure the boards we have received are not damaged. We love the variety of colors they offer besides the natural T&G. Another bonus is we get the end matching it's easy to install!

We searched through several companies and received several samples. We settled on Johnson Pine because it was the best combination of price, quality and speed of delivery. The customer service was great and they were very helpful answering questions. We ordered approximately 1750 sq ft of pine and it came faster than expected and was exactly what was described when we ordered. We would highly recommend for anyone looking for this type of wood.

It took me a long time to get around to writing this review. I have been meaning to do it for some time. Why? Because not only does Johnson Lumber provide the greatest pine boards I have ever seen in my 64 years on this planet but they also provide the greatest service. We had a fire in an enclosed porch area of my 100 year old home. The old beadboard ceiling was destroyed and I decided not to replace it, but instead, to sheath the underside of the shed roof which would give a more open feel to the porch.
I researched sources for the tongue-and-groove pine as well as other boards that I would need to accomplish what I wanted and I came across Johnson Lumber. After a brief phone call to request a quote, I knew I was dealing with great people. They sent me samples and helped me choose what I needed, giving me great advice along the way. Although this was an unusual case, Matt (I believe that is his name) and his wife delivered the order them selves, driving all the way down to New York City.
What nice people! They helped me unload and stack the boards. A month later, I started the project and began to appreciate the incredible quality of their product. The boards were milled to perfection and every (and I mean every) board was as true as it possible could be. No defects whatsoever, not even in the finish. They also gave me a lot more boards than I ordered gratis. (I found uses for all of it.) I can't say enough good things about Johnson Lumber and the people that run it. Thanks!
