Spray polyurethane foam insulation (SPF) used in residential and commercial construction has been in use since the 1960's. The material that makes up the cushion in your car seat, the cushion in your couch, your mattress, the insulation wrapping your refrigerator are all in the same family of products as SPF.
Open cell and closed cell foam insulation are both in the same category of building materials. The same equipment is used to make both products, and over 60% of the raw component ingredients are identical. The biggest discernible difference between the two products is density. At one cubic foot open cell foam insulation systems typically fall into a density spread of 0.45 lbs to 0.8 lbs providing a material consistency similar to memory foam mattress. For closed cell systems, one cubic foot of material falls into a density spread of 1.7 lbs to 2.2 lbs providing a material consistency similar to the sole of a running shoe.
Our proficiency in the new construction, (particularly custom residential) segment of construction has garnered a lot of attention for us in Southern New England. Attention which has earned us placement in nationally and locally syndicated magazines as well as performing work on a project featured on A&E television.
Existing home attic spaces present the best place to begin looking for energy efficiency improvements. They are typically readily accessible, represent a large part of the total surface area of the envelope and provide an opportunity to greatly increase the efficiency and comfort of the home. Sealing these spaces will help maintain the thermal energy in the home by cutting off a key contributor to heat loss through convective loops. In addition, with most Southern New England homes built prior to 1980, the quantity and type of insulation materials found is sub-standard.

The only contractor that accepted spray insulating the crawlspace of my dining area. Other contractors rejected working on the space due to the limited space of the entry point. Sean and his team insulated the attic and sprayed foam my crawlspace. They did an amazing job and no more ice cold floors in my dining area thanks to their work.

I had them insulate my new home using a combination of close cell and rock wool. The house is never drafty and I heat it for a fraction of my previous bill. The crew were polite and extremely clean.

John & TJ are always there to help and have endless knowledge on building envelopes. They're my only consideration for any insulating I'd need on my properties or for my clients.

Ecologic provided sprayfoam and a vapor barrier for the crawlspace of our beach cottage. The work was high-quality and the cost was less than what I had been quoted to remove debris and replace the fiberglass insulation. I would highly recommend Ecologic, they are easy to deal with and take pride in their work.
