Got service two years. Weather was being difficult and my patience was wearing thin admittedly. I said if they don't get it done in a timely manner I would request my refund or legal paperwork would have to be done, respectively. You know, no brainier. If you don't work on it, refund the money and move on. He said he threatened to cut off my power and keep the money without doing any work.

Well after talking they continue to push the project but they called to cut off the power anyway(during a time they were not going to work on it yet). Luckily KC power company was courteous enough to get it back up same day within 3 he's (go KC power!). I advised power company to no longer listen to Donco and they have to listen to me from now on.

That was a chore by itself. Overall. Their workmanship was top notch after the fiasco ended. After not doing any work and threatening to steal money without working on it is a red flag. They take it personal and not professional(I mean the head guy not the people coming to you). Only consider these people if conditions will prove to be ideal. If problems happen they will likely tell you tough and move on.

If you argue with legitimate concern they will likely threaten you and move on with your money. Just telling how it is. Update to Owner 7/13/2021: I am a real customer. Even more of a reason as they don't keep organized records of their customers. Go figure, threatening to cutting it off and 'attempting to cut off reviews'. How. predictable.

We have used Donco twice in the last year. Our first experience with them was upgrading a 60 amp panel to a 100 amp. Recently, we had them do a complete rewire with a 200 amp service on another older house that was built in 1959. Don handled the estimate and gave us options as well as detailed info on the labor process, permit inspection and the reconnect by Evergy (fka KCPL).

Everything happened just as described. These guys are absolute professionals and you can see it in the quality work they leave behind. I was also amazed that while pulling all of that new wire, they only had to make three small holes (smaller than my fist) in the sheetrock. Top notch licensed electricians and I highly recommend them!

We got a referral for Donco from a friend who had used them before. When they arrived they looked around, told us what the job would cost, and did the work in a reasonable amount of time. I'm extern pleased with the results and was happy with the friendliness of their employees.

We called Donco about replacing a ceiling fan that had fallen and given up the ghost. It was some time ago and I don't remember the technicians names but they were on time, made sure my hard wood floors were covered and proceeded to do an excellent job. Very fairly priced.

We have used Donco for three separate electrical issues over the past year. We have always found them to be on-time, prepared, and pleasant. Work was done quickly and neatly. One time, we had to leave so we just asked them to lock up our house when they were finished. Work performed always matches their estimate. We plan to continue using them in the future.

Todd, one of Donco's electricians came to my house for electric repairs. Todd represents his company professionally; (1) doing the work correctly (2) quickly, (3) cost effectively, and (4) cleaning up the mess after he completed his work! It was a pleasure having this gentleman in our home.

I spoke with don the owner for about 15 minutes and he was very rude and spoke down to me the entire time. His electrician did not explain what needed to be done thoroughly and did not explain the minimum $125 labor fee and instead explained it as if we needed to pay for him to go shopping. When I asked for an explanation from don, he accused my wife of lying and not listening.

I know they do good work, but I stopped the project because I won't hire a company with an owner that rude and bull headed. Response to owner's comment: Again the attacks continue. This is the first service in my entire life I haven't paid for. I think the response from the owner says everything about how he talked to me over the phone. People shouldn't have to put up with business owners being this rude. Home owners have the right to write a review about a negative interaction they have with a business owner and this falls under those guidelines. Very disappointing.

DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY! Donco Electric are LIARS and completely rude and unprepared to deal with customers who expect projects to go smoothly. They came to our house without the suggested part needed to fix our electrical issue and informed us that we would be charged for their drive time and shopping time to get the correct part. After we contacted the company, they informed us that they would not cash our check. However, they aren't capable of hearing criticism about their performance and went ahead and cashed our check after we left a poor review of their company online. Needless to say, that's completely unacceptable, and I hope anyone looking to hire an electrician avoids hiring them and going through the same problems we have experienced. Whatever you do, HIRE ANOTHER COMPANY!

After having a 15 minute conversation over the phone with the owner Don I sent him over drawings of the project along with the scope of work. I informed him that project was only 900sqft. I also let him know that the material was on site and anything that we didn't have on site he could bill me for. His guys showed up almost an hour late. it took 20 minutes to go over the scope of work and they left.

I called 24 hours later to ask about the estimate and they said they never got the paper work from there employee Todd and that they would need to call me back. I got a text message from the owner about 15 minutes later saying we are not interested because the material is already on site. I thought why put the customer through all that when you already knew that the material was there. You already had the scope of work. You already had the drawings. So unprofessional.
