Automated Access

I built my own gate, but bought the motor, control panel, receiver and remotes from Rob at Automated Access. He gave me a good price, and expert advise. I needed a little help to properly program the control panel, and Charles was kind enough to stop by and offer his expertise. I highly recommend Automated Access!

Critical: Quality, Responsiveness, Value Called multiple times. Left message to have a call back for a quote and never heard back. On final call was told that they are very busy and next appointment would be out 3 months. it would been nice if I knew that on the first call.

Critical: Responsiveness Have left my number with lady 3 times already to get a quote on a gate operating system. I even said to the lady maybe 3rd time a charm and I'll get a call back, but it's been two weeks since I last called and no call. I will continue my search for a business who does gate operator installs.

I hired two other metalwork companies (Pizano's Fencing and First Impression Fencing and Automated Gates) back in October of 2019 to build a new metal gate for my driveway and to install a new motor. After 9+ months of runarounds and excuses for the work not being fully completed, I started to call shops that were recommended by the BBB. The first one I called did not want to finish someone else's work.

In early August, I called Automated Access and the owner came out and gave me an estimate to finish the job, Two weeks later, I authorized the work to start. My project was small compared to the other projects they work on and I was not charged a dime for any of the work until it was complete. The owner kept in touch with me throughout the project and let me know when they would be over to measure and install.

The company had several workers on the property for the install and all the guys were hardworking, polite, and respectful. Everything was completed and installed as agreed upon with no surprise charges at the end. My only regret was not calling Automated Access back in October of 2019 for an estimate. I would have had a usable and secure driveway ten months ago if I had used them in the first place.

My recommendation: Make sure any ironwork company you hire has a contractors license. You can verify a contractor's license on the the state contractors board website: cslb.ca.gov.

We have used their services twice and have been happy both times. The first time was just setting up the remote controls and code for the gate at our front driveway and the second time was an actual repair. We ordered a skateboard for Christmas gift for our son and the fedex driver leaned it up against the automatic gate and when the gate opened the package was sucked into the gap between the gate and the motor, the package was shredded but the skateboard was so strong that it would not brake and the motor kept trying to open the gate until the chain broke.

The chain was stressed and so we replaced it and recalibrated the gate to open and close the correct distance and now it's fine. It was a little more expensive than I expected but it was worth it, you get what you're paying for the customer service on the phone was efficient and professional and she put me in touch with the repair tech within minutes then he fixed it the same day.

I say it's worth the money to go with a company like this because they send someone who is professional, trustworthy and competent and at the end of the day the gate and motor look and function the way they should. I will recommend them and use their service in the future when we redo the driveway.

Rob and his team built and installed our beautiful fence and automatic gate years ago. We have had need of service a few times over the years, once just recently. Jesse came out and had the problem diagnosed and solved within 1/2 an hour.

'Spoke several times over several days with a female voice at the office who said she would have a tech call me to schedule a service appointment. I never got a call. Frustrated!

I was having some gate trouble. I called the office and spoke with Elizabeth; she said she would give my information to the tech. The tech Jesse called me a few short hours later with an appt for the next day. He told me if my gate was experiencing the problems I had described to him that I could call him and tell him and he'd see if he could help me out.

He called the morning of the appt to confirm and he put new wheels on the gate and described to me everything he did and why the gate was acting the way it was acting. With having no experience with an auto gate, I was satisfied with this experience and how everything was explained to me and Jesse even gave me some pointers, if the problem ever arose again. Very happy with their service. Not sure why there are so many bad reviews.

Can't get a single person to call me back! I have been trying for a month now and they keep telling me "my work order is in" and that the owner would call me to schedule! He never would call. I finally had it and went another direction. horrible business to schedule with.

These people must be great because they're so busy they can't return my call or deal with my problem for over six weeks. If you can get them to respond, I guess you're lucky. I'm looking elsewhere and would advise anyone else to do the same.
