Apex Glass was founded in 1962 by Frank Pitrone Sr. He had formerly been employed at R.B. Wyatt, a custom shower door manufacturer in New York City. At the time there were few, if any, custom shower door retailers in Connecticut. His main goal was to service Fairfield County, but soon found that custom shower doors were hard to find in the surrounding areas as well.
