When Jester Concepts took on the task of reinventing the old Porter & Frye location in the newly renovated Ivy Hotel in downtown Minneapolis, they teamed up with ESG Architects and General Contractor Scott Knuston. The concept of the restaurant was to offer a modern expression of genuine Italian cuisine. In keeping with that theme, when the team came to us for material selections, Italian white marble was the obvious choice. The team at RSP Architects approached us with a few specific goals for this project.
Services
Established in in 1997, Amsum & Ash is an importer and wholesale distributor of stone products. We feature a full range of natural stones such as Granite, Marble, Quartzite, Soapstone, Limestone, Slate Travertine, and Onyx; as well as a selection of engineered Quartz and Porcelain slabs. Amsum & Ash began as the U.S. flagship location for its parent company TAB India and has since become a leader the stone industry. We travel the world over to select the finest materials, ensuring equally high levels of quality and beauty in all of our products.
Our mission is to search the world for new and exciting material while also selecting premium stone that pass our quality standards. This is not an easy process. Remodeling your home means you will be looking at your decision every day for the next how many years so please take your time. Don't expect to stop by and pick your stone out on the first visit.
The makeup and formation of granites and marbles are quite different and as a result the two often have different characteristics. Selecting the right stone is a process of coordinating the look you prefer with the material that has the properties that fit your project. Quartzite is a natural stone slab just as a marble or granite.
This year we're working with Second Harvest Heartland to collect items for people in need. All donations will be distributed to the local shelters that need. About us: In business since 1997, Amsum & Ash is a high design, natural stone distribution company owned by one of the world's largest stone.

Spent about 2 hours on our initial visit with DC. Very patient and knowledgeable. Found a beautiful selection. Best lit indoor showroom we visited. Highly recommended.

Great customer service, beautiful granite options, my choice of Magma Gold was quickly sent to the company that will be installing the countertops. I'm excited to see the finished product. I definitely recommend Amsum & Ash. I won't hesitate to use them in the future.

My wife and I arrived just before Ansum & Ash was closing about 30 minutes before. There was a sign on the door asking to call to schedule appointment. However, we walked in and asked. They said yes, and we were helped right away! Eric showed us the showroom. He was great! Extremely helpful and very friendly. Expert customer service.

We have relied on Ansum and Ash for new and remodeled home building projects for more than 20 years. They have the widest variety of selections and the best customer service. Scott has been wonderful to work with and always has our best interests at heart. They will always be our first and only resource for stone countertops.

If you are buying stone you HAVE to go here. The warehouse is huge, lots of great products. Eric F. was fantastic. He allowed us to browse, answered all questions and took extra time to show us multiple slabs so I could pick the perfect one. In the time of covid we felt very safe, only customers in the entire facility. I am so glad we made the 3 hour drive here to pick out EXACTLY what we will be installing.

Cantry was awesome to work with! He took the time to explain the different stones to us. He had the two slabs we were interested set side by side for us to get a full look at both of them. Their product selection is always nice to look at to get lots of different ideas. Highly recommend stopping and seeing their slabs!

Scott was great to work with! He was very accommodating. We didn't feel like we were being rushed or hurried to pick out our granite. He was helpful and didn't hesitate to move the granite to the front of the store so we could see the true colors, we did not feel like we were an inconvenience. They also have a great selection of colors! We went to another granite place and did not get the same feeling as Amsum and Ash. I would highly recommend this place if you need granite/quartz/marble!

@amsumash have been doing business with your company for years. Stopped in the other day with my father and spoke to the wonderful woman at the front was directed to the warehouse show room. Spoke to the young man around our needs and he acted as if we were a burden. He showed us some items for our project. He seemed to lighten up a bit. We stated we needed some pricing the man stated he would take our number and have his business associate call us the following day with pricing.

Nothing it's been a week. Called the individual multiple times no response. It's a shame since we have used them for the last 5 years for projects with Disney, Marvel, golf courses, local restaurants and local residents homes. The difference this round was we came as individuals in street cloths and not under our business name. It should not matter how we look but it might be the last time we do business with them. Let's make this right.i had you as a 5 star rating.

Amsum and Ash is the place to go if you are looking for high quality countertops with a wide selection of granite, marble, quartz etc to choose from. The customer service was excellent and knowledge of the different types of stone and how to care for them helped with choosing the best product for us! Highly recommend checking them out!

Beautiful products, wonderful selection, and great lighting in the showroom, but customer service was nonexistent. We checked in and were told our sales person would be out momentarily. We were told we could peruse the showroom while we waited. We went to the showroom and walked up and down each aisle several times and our salesperson never showed up.

We found a piece of granite we wanted, but asked if we could see a couple of the other pieces from the same block. We were told that wasn't possible as the warehouse guys weren't there, so they couldn't move slabs around. The guy working the showroom said he'd try to find pictures of the other slabs and that we'd have to schedule a viewing to see other pieces.

My husband explained that we were there to purchase our product today and that it was a huge inconvenience to have to schedule another day to come down as we'd already drove 45min and didn't want to have to spend another day coming down. The guys hands were tied, so ours were too. He said he'd go find us pictures of the other slabs.and never returned or spoke to us again.

We left and, as we did, we noticed the "storefront/office" had all lights turned off and was closed at 4:30 on a Friday when the time on the door said they were open until 5. We couldn't schedule a viewing if we wanted to. We're headed to GS Granite World in the morning. They're more than happy to move slabs for us as many times as we like and without an appointment.
