There should be labels on the frame and topside of the panel door stating "Hoover", "D-Blaze" or "Dricon". You can call the factory at 901-795-9200 and explain what you need. Before calling be prepared with the following information: panel door size, date on stair, number of treads or steps in the middle section and whether the treads are painted.
The bolt attaching long arm of the spring arm to the side of the ladder may be too tight and needs to be loosened 1/2 turn. Also put a very little oil on areas where metal parts are rubbing against themselves. Depending on the amount of use, some parts will get loose from wear. These parts may be ordered from the factory.

Contacted them for a new assembly arm for the 444. they said they stopped selling my version of the staircase in Nov. of 2020 and had no spare parts. Really? You stopped selling it less than a year ago and don't have any spare parts for a ladder you sold for 20 years? I can buy old Werner staircase parts all day on Amazon or ebay but this company somehow doesn't have any. Sounds like a greedy move to get you to buy a new staircase. Would never purchase anything from this company. I will be going with Werner from now on.

We purchased, received and installed a single stringer attic stairway from American Stairways. I was a little confused because, I think, AS now has taken over Bessler, who I thought I was dealing with. Regardless, AS is excellent and the stairway is a wonderful product. We installed it ourselves, I had questions, spoke to Ryan at AS and texted images several times, He brought in an associate when needed. I followed their advice. Installation complete. Completely satisfied!
