One of the larger windows I purchased from PGT lost its seal between the glass panes. Although the window was under warranty, the closest 'authorized dealer' was more than an hour away and wants $400 for the labor to replace the pane. PGT did nothing to help reduce the cost, nor would they ship me the glass so I could replace it myself. Thankfully we only did 1/3 of our windows. We won't be using any PGT dealers for the rest!

Spend over $30k on installing new top of the line lifetime warranty PGT vinyl windows and doors on my home. Two windows are cracked from defect. My dealer who installed their windows has been trying to contact PGT for the last year for warranty replacement with no solution or no answer from them. PGT has terrible customer service. PGT will likely respond to this review very similar to their responses of the negative reviews.

Read each of their negative reviews responses. No personal touch from this company. I hope I can get this resolved by sending this review. If looking for new impact windows, shop first and read reviews for that company's customer support and warranty.

We purchased over $40K in PGT windows/sliders for our new home in 2016. All Windows and Glass from Sarasota installed them. While the energy efficiency of these hurricane windows and doors is very good, we have had numerous problems with both the double hung and crank-out casement windows. Both PGT and All Windows & Glass were out to repair the windows several times in the first year, but their repairs did not last and we were soon beyond the warranty period.

Neither PGT or All Windows and Glass would extend the warranty and blamed each other for the windows poor performance. For the past 4+ years we have had to live with several windows that cannot stay open. We also had two of the crank-out casement windows crack for no apparent reason, but that happened beyond the 1 year warranty and are not covered. Overall we are extremely disappointed in our PGT experience and would never buy windows or sliders from them again.

Signed contract in June with local contractor for PGT Impact Sliders and was told it would be about 16 weeks to deliver. PGT gave a first install date of October but cancelled it. I was given several other install dates for November, then December and then in January. Front door (not from PGT) was installed in November. The impact slider order was not installed until late March.

One window was delivered to the local supply house in October-the other two weren't delivered until February. Three sets of sliding doors arrived in Feb with only 2 frames. 3rd frame needed to be re-ordered because no one could find it. Two doors were installed in February and the third was sitting in my carport for over a month waiting for the missing frame.

All doors came without the required inspection stickers. So, another delay because they had to be ordered. They gave me no consideration for my time and inconvenience, although I requested it. The only reason I have sliders now is because I contacted PGT in Venice, FL in January and raised holy hell with them. My local contractor was put in a terrible position because of the gross mismanagement at PGT.

This was absurd, ridiculous, and was truly a horrible experience all around. While PGT offers a decent product, their management practices and delivery of partial orders are totally unacceptable! Apparently they have no quality control and no project managers working to complete orders. Nothing but grief and aggravation with this manufacturer.

Definitely do NOT recommend. We purchased PGT windows and sliding glass doors from one of their approved vendors. All but one, had physical defects. scratches, smudges, suction cup marks and fog on interior glass surfaces. We were told not to worry. they would all be replaced ASAP. Five months later, the installer shows up with replacements for all of the defective windows.

We were told they were all inspected. Many were missing from the order, one was scratched, some were broken, some were the wrong style. And now, we are waiting for replacements. again.

PGT products are suspect and their customer is service is disappointing in the extreme. We had a sunroom added to our home in April of 2019. Our builder purchased a pgt 3 panel sliding door. This is considered an exterior door but we used interior to separate our living room from sunroom. About a month ago we woke up to 1 panel shattered. It is safety glass so still in the frame.

I called pgt and we are outside of warranty for cracks. The csr I spoke to was Ashley and she was very dismissive obviously did not believe me when I told her what happened. I explained this is not just a crack and of course it is very rare for glass to spontaneously crack according to the csr from pgt. I explained that only my cat was up overnight.

She then proceeded to tell me that my cat probably did it. My 12 1/2 pound cat ran into door with enough force to shatter it - right. Also, remember this is supposed to be an exterior door and as a customer if a cat can shatter it then it is not secure at all. She did open a warranty claim and I responded to her email with the pictures requested. A week later I responded to email asking for an update with no response from pgt csr. Beware, if you buy pgt do not expect them to stand by their product. Update: PGT did get back with me and offered some towards replacement. I hope there will Not be any more problems with our door.

Absolutely NO customer service! I have a 6 year old window with a broken seal resulting in moisture between the panes. Nobody at PGT returns phone calls and it takes them weeks to reply to email, and then they tell you to call the dealer, who tells you to call PGT. I predict it's only a matter of time before the seals break on all the windows. Also, the windows provide no energy savings at all. DON'T BUY THESE WINDOWS!

I unfortunately join the long list of unhappy customers after purchasing eight PGT windows for almost $8k from Home Depot. They were installed March 1, 2021. As soon as the windows fogged up, it became apparent there is a defect sealed between the glass in all the windows. I have a had a Home Depot rep and a PGT rep out to view the problem. Home Depot says the defect is sealed in the glass. PGT says the defect is on the outside of the windows created by suction cups used to move the windows and can be buffed out.

I can assure you they can't be cleaned as I have tried many times. I am nine months into my project and unable to finish until the window issue is taken care of. Right now it has resulted in much time on the phone, repeated efforts to reach the right people, speaking to the district manager, and meeting with different reps. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT purchase PGT windows.

I think there is a defect to these windows. Mine are one year old, and I had too have one window repaired twice, the plastic part that I guess is under tension broke. I had that repaired, then the other side broke, so I had that repaired. Then, last week, in our other bathroom, without even using the window, we heard a loud bang. No one was in there or using the window, the plastic part exploded.

My son came out of his room asking me what happened. I am afraid to open any window until it can be explained to me what is going on. I have a call in to the company that installed them to come repair this window. When I can get a good feeling that there is no defect and my window (s) are repaired, then I will change my review rating. Update 11/23/21 - PGT came out and repaired the balancer on my window.

I understand that labor is short, so no problem with it taking a while, at least they were nice, called me, and came out. So far so good, I had them check all the windows, so all is good now. I really do like the windows, it was just a balancing issue on two windows, they were more custom than the other windows so that may have had something to do with it. All good at this time.

Window failure after 6 years. Our neighbor paid $$$$$ for hurricane picture window in her townhome in 2015. We purchased it, and noticed that the huge picture window in the living room had circular streaks all through it. These streaks weren't on the inside or outside. They were in between the panes of glass. The window/window seals had failed. Contacted PGT windows and was told warranty was for original owner only, they would not replace anything. No discount offered to replace. Save your money. These expensive windows are not worth it if they won't last longer than 6 years, especially here in Florida.
